Unbuilt, Restricted Competition — Girona, Spain.

Girona is major catalan city, an hour drive north of Barcelona. The Puig family had recently acquired a beautiful well-oriented plot of land in it’s city center. Our proposal wanted to explore a more fluid form of living where corridors could become more than just transit spaces. The in-betweens of the fragmented rooms facing north allowed their users to discover other living opportunities (like winter gardens on its rear façade). A central courtyard divides the private/fragmented areas from the more open/social areas, generating oblique visuals that enhance this contrast. Facing the street we worked to make a subtle and continuous façade that relates to the street, its neighboors and its context.
